Loving ourselves and supporting ourselves is important work that all in recovery need to learn how to do. But it is also important for us to have loving supporting relationships outside of ourselves as well.

Having others around us to enjoy life with and lift us up is a privilege and a pleasure. We get to express our love with another human being(s) and it’s one of the great joys in life. It also helps us to get out of our heads a bit.

For sure that self-care is necessary to live a happy balanced life. We want to be able to handle our emotions and be non-reactive, but also it’s important to express our inner feelings and universe with a caring and loving human being.
